Reaction to a CNN story

The story

I read an article in CNN about a young boy who died after police Tasered him. I won't restate the whole article (you can read it above) but the boy was learning disable and 5'2 110 lbs. Did the police really need a Taser to subdue the boy? I understand that if someone is running from an officer the officer as the right to think they have done something wrong, but Tasering a little boy seems excessive.

I like how CNN gave other cases of people being killed by Tasers, which are supposed to be non-lethal. I also like how they gave both sides of the argument citing police officials, and the boys mother. They remained neutral and to let the reader figure out what to believe for themselves.

Today I just finished my first package for broadcast II. It was on the plein air festival in Rocheport Missouri. Plein air comes from a french expression, meaning in the open air. All day artists painted outside around town. They had to do so quickly to finish before the daylight could alter what they were painting. I was glad to have discovered this story because I had two other ideads fall through and I felt like I was wasting time not filming. I searched all over the internet before I found a flyer about it on the website iheartcolumbia.

Overall I think I did well, but there are a few things I can work harder on for next time. For example I need to be careful when I pronounce things to be true, before I say something that is a fact I better be an expert or be quoting one. I also have to do a better job of matching my vo video with my script.
